We are expecting over 100 students at Young Democratic Socialists 2016, but many of them need your support to attend. Donate now to help activists attend the winter conference to learn more about democratic socialism!

Any amount helps! Here's what your donation could cover:

$1-$20 = covers a subway ticket from housing to the conference
$20-$30 = subway tickets for 10 students to get from housing to the conference
$30-$60 = a bus ticket for a student in need
$60-$100 = gas money for short carpool trip
$100-$200 = rental car for a long carpool trip
$200+ = an airplane ticket for our many far, far away students!

It’s 1984, British coal miners are on strike, and a group of gays and lesbians in London bring the queer community together to support the miners in their fight. Join DSA member and labor historian Susan Hirsch in discussing Union Maids (1976). Nominated for an Academy Award, this documentary follows three Chicago labor organizers (Kate Hyndman, Stella Nowicki, and Sylvia Woods) active beginning in the 1930s. The filmmakers were members of the New American Movement (a precursor of DSA), and the late Vicki Starr (aka Stella Nowicki) was a longtime member of Chicago DSA and the Chicago Women's Liberation Union.
